This 2022 Mercedes-Benz G63 already had one of the most striking interiors we’ve seen — finished in a stunning mint green. The owner wanted to add modern connectivity without changing a single thing about the look. So we upgraded the screen to bring wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and a full Android system to the cabin — while keeping the G63 looking exactly as Mercedes built it. Here’s how we did it.
The Vehicle: 2022 Mercedes-Benz G63 (W464)
The W464 G63 is already a technological flagship, with a beautiful widescreen dashboard. But like every car, its built-in system has limits — and this owner wanted more: true wireless connectivity, a full Android platform, and the freedom to run any app. The challenge was to deliver all of that without altering the car’s flawless mint-green interior in any way.
The Challenge
The owner had two firm requirements. First, the original look had to stay exactly the same — same size, same design, same factory finish. Second, the original Mercedes system and menus had to keep working perfectly. The goal was to add a modern screen with wireless CarPlay, Android Auto, and a complete Android system on top of the factory experience — not replace it.
The Solution: A 12.3″ Dual-Screen Android Upgrade
We installed a 12.3″ dual-screen Android system, purpose-built for the G-Class — identical in size and design to the factory display, so the dashboard looks completely unchanged. Powered by 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, it runs a full Android platform alongside the original Mercedes system.
- Wireless Apple CarPlay & Android Auto
- Full Android system — download and run any app
- 8GB RAM + 128GB storage for smooth performance
- Two USB ports and full video file playback
- Built-in SIM card slot for always-on data
- Wi-Fi hotspot for passengers
- AHD reversing camera support
The Original System, Fully Preserved
This is what sets the upgrade apart: the factory Mercedes menus and functions remain completely intact and fully working. Because the original screen was not a touchscreen, the factory menu continues to be controlled exactly as before — through the iDrive controller on the center console. Only the new features are operated by touch, as well as through the same controller. Nothing about the original experience is lost — it’s simply expanded.
Same Look, Smarter Screen
Here’s the best part: you’d never know anything changed. The new 12.3″ screen matches the factory display in size, shape, and finish — so the G63’s iconic cabin looks exactly as it did from the showroom. The difference is only revealed the moment you start using it: wireless CarPlay, Android Auto, and a full Android system, all running on a screen that looks 100% OEM.

Inside the Process
The upgrade was carried out with care and precision in our Dubai workshop. We removed the factory screen, fitted the new dual-screen unit, and integrated all wiring so both the original system and the new features work flawlessly. Every connection was tested — CarPlay, Android Auto, the reversing camera, and the SIM-based data — before the car was handed back, looking exactly as it arrived.
