A convertible roof is the largest single surface on your car, and in the Gulf it takes the hardest beating.
Weiss Auto Concept rebuilds soft tops from scratch — fabric cut to factory dimensions, rear glass sealed clean, fitted under correct tension. Any colour you want.
We rebuild soft tops. We don't patch them.
Most workshops in Dubai will offer to stitch a tear or glue a seam. It looks fixed for a few weeks. Then the UV breaks down the thread, the repair line becomes the weakest point in the fabric, and the same roof tears again — usually wider than before.
We don't do patch repairs, and we'll tell you that before you drive over. The only fix that lasts here is a full fabric replacement. The frame stays, the mechanism stays, the glass is refitted — the fabric is built new to the exact dimensions the car was designed around.
If your roof leaks, drags, sits with a gap, or shows silicone squeezed out along the glass, that is a job for replacement, not repair.
Every convertible, not just the common ones
Weiss Auto Concept has over two decades of interior and upholstery work behind it. The same team handles our custom upholstery and full interior design work in Dubai. Soft tops are built in-house — we don't send the fabric out and we don't outsource the fit.
BMW
3 Series, 4 Series, Z4 and the older E46 and E93 cabriolets. Correct tension across the header rail so the roof closes without strain.

Audi
A3, A5 and TT Roadster. Full fabric rebuild with the original frame retained.
Mini Cooper
Convertible roofs replaced in standard or custom colour, including the contrast panel options.
Fiat 500C
Rolling roof fabric replaced and recoloured — a popular colour-change job on the cream and pastel bodies.
Ford Mustang
Convertible tops for current and classic generations, in premium canvas or vinyl.
Range Rover Evoque
Convertible roof fabric rebuilt to factory finish.
Bentley and Jaguar
Continental GTC, F-Type and XK. Luxury-grade fabric with a finish that has to pass close inspection.
Classic and restoration
Older cabriolets where no pattern exists any more — the roof is measured and built from the car itself.

When a soft top needs replacing
- Water inside after rain. Usually the rear glass seal has failed rather than the fabric, but both get rebuilt together.
- A tear, split or worn seam. Once the fabric has opened, the surrounding material is already fatigued.
- Fading or chalky patches. Gulf sun bleaches canvas unevenly. Once the colour is gone, the weave is going too.
- Noise when the roof locks. Fabric cut short pulls against the frame every time the roof operates.
- A visible gap at the glass line. A bad previous install — water tracks straight in.
- Silicone showing around the rear glass. Sealant squeezed out is a sign of a rushed fit. It should never be visible.
Any colour, including one your car never came in
Replacement is the cheapest moment to change how the car looks. A soft top is the biggest visual element on most convertibles, and switching it changes the whole character — a cream Fiat 500 with a deep red roof reads as a different car.
We stock premium canvas in a wide colour range and can match your body paint or go for deliberate contrast. Fabric availability moves, so confirm your shade with us before booking.
How the job is done
- Remove the old roof and inspect the frame, hinges and drainage channels.
- Check and prepare the rear glass, replacing it if the bonding has failed.
- Measure and cut the new fabric to exact factory dimensions — the step where cheap jobs go wrong.
- Fit the fabric under correct tension by hand across the full frame.
- Set the rear glass with the silicone seal fully concealed.
- Cycle the roof open and closed, checking for noise, gaps and alignment.
Why Dubai is harder on roofs than Europe
A convertible sold in Germany expects perhaps 1,600 hours of strong sun a year. In the UAE it gets more than double that, at higher intensity, with surface temperatures that soften adhesives and bake the coating off canvas.
Add fine dust that works into the weave and grinds at it every time the roof folds, then sudden winter rain onto a seal that has spent eight months drying out. A roof that would last a decade elsewhere often needs replacing here in four to six years — and a patched roof, far sooner.
That is why we build to factory dimensions rather than approximate. A roof under correct tension moves the way the mechanism expects. One cut short fights the frame on every cycle.

Pricing
Every roof is quoted after we see the car. Price depends on fabric grade, colour, and the condition of the frame and rear glass — a car needing new glass bonding is not the same job as one needing fabric alone.
Be careful with unusually low quotes. A soft top fitted with undersized fabric or exposed sealant has to be redone, and redoing it costs more than doing it once. Our work is backed by a money-back guarantee.

Common questions
Can a convertible soft top be repaired instead of replaced?
We don't offer patch repairs. In Gulf heat a stitched or glued repair fails within months because UV attacks the thread and the repair line becomes the weakest point in the fabric. A full fabric replacement is the only fix that lasts, so that is the only work we take on.
How much does convertible roof replacement cost in Dubai?
Cost depends on the car, the fabric grade and colour, and whether the rear glass and frame need work. Every job is quoted after inspection. Message Zainab on WhatsApp with your model and photos for an accurate price.
Can I change the colour of my soft top?
Yes. The roof can be built in almost any colour — matched to your paint or chosen for contrast. Replacement is the natural moment to change it, since the fabric is coming off anyway. Confirm your shade with us before booking, as stock varies.
How long does a soft top replacement take?
It depends on the vehicle and the fabric chosen. All work is done in-house from removal to final fitting, so nothing is rushed to meet an outsourced deadline. Message us with your car details for a realistic timeframe.
Why is silicone visible around my rear glass?
Silicone seals the rear glass on every convertible roof, but on a correct installation it is never visible. Sealant squeezed out around the edge means the glass was set in a hurry. It is one of the clearest signs of a low-quality fit.
Why does my roof make noise when it locks?
Almost always because the fabric was cut short. An undersized roof is under tension the moment it closes, so it strains against the frame and wears out early. It cannot be corrected by adjustment — the fabric has to be rebuilt to the right dimensions.
Do you work on cars outside Dubai?
Yes. We have workshops in Al Quoz and Deira in Dubai and in Sharjah, and customers come to us from across the UAE.
