This Mercedes CLE 360 camera retrofit added a four-camera surround-view system to a 2025 Mercedes-Benz CLE 300 Coupé (C236) that came without factory surround view. The system displays on the car’s original MBUX central screen and switches on automatically in reverse, when the car slows below a selectable speed, and when the factory PARKTRONIC sensors detect an obstacle. It also records all four cameras. The factory rear camera and PARKTRONIC remain fully functional, and the installation was carried out by Weiss Auto Concept in Dubai.

What Was Installed
The retrofit uses a dedicated 360° video interface module connected to the MBUX display, fed by four HD cameras. The module is installed behind the centre console, and the MBUX screen shows a bird’s-eye view alongside individual camera views, a 3D surround mode and dynamic guidelines.
The MBUX screen and centre console trim are removed to route the camera wiring and mount the module out of sight, then reassembled with no visible modification to the interior.

- Rear camera: mounted at the licence-plate light area, separate from the factory rear camera
How the Mercedes CLE 360 Camera Activates
The display comes up automatically in reverse, at low speed, and when the parking sensors detect an obstacle. The driver can also open it manually at any time.

- Reverse gear: rear camera plus bird’s-eye view appear automatically.
- Low-speed trigger: the view appears automatically when the car slows below a set speed. The threshold can be chosen from 10, 15, 20, 25 or 30 km/h. This car is set to 20 km/h.
- Auto-hide: the cameras disappear from the screen once the car accelerates past the set speed.
- Manual activation: the camera/parking button below the MBUX screen opens the camera view whenever needed.
- Turn-signal trigger: the system can show the side camera when an indicator is used. The owner chose to disable this so it would not interrupt navigation at junctions.
AI Object Detection
An AI-assisted mode measures the distance to surrounding objects and highlights them on screen with a live distance readout. It can be switched off at any time.
Factory Functions Retained
Every original Mercedes-Benz function remains intact. Pressing the camera/parking button before selecting reverse brings up the factory Mercedes rear camera and PARKTRONIC display, so the driver can use either the original camera or the new 360° system. No factory features were removed or recoded.
Calibration
The four cameras were stitched and calibrated on calibration mats laid out around the vehicle. This produces a seamless bird’s-eye image with accurate proportions at the car’s edges. Calibration is included in every Weiss Auto Concept 360° installation, including this Mercedes CLE 360 camera retrofit.
Built-In 4-Camera Recording
The system records all four cameras as soon as the car is started, working as a full surround dashcam. Footage is stored on a USB drive connected to the module. This car was fitted with a 64 GB drive.
